Under The Radar
J-Colb Change Gone Come
Review Written by: Mr.Shadeed
Under the Radar is Indie Planet's review of albums that were released that deserve a second look by hip-hop fans and our viewers. In true IPTV fashion, we also get the artist's feedback on the review whether good, bad, or worse.
Lafayette, Georgia native J-Colb recently released his debut album "Change Gone Come" in the latter part of 2008.
Upon listening to the songs on this project, the impression that J-Colb is looking to present an alternative to the songs without substance that dominate our FM radio stations across the country.
The intro gives this album a great jumpstart into the rest of the project. His flow is versatile and switches up through many of the album songs ranging from the up-tempo "The Mic" to the more introspective, slowed down tempo of "Off My Chest". The album has a soulful sound complete with guitar licks to a heavy rock vibe on "You Ain't No G".
I think that the most important contribution is that J-Colb is delivering lyricism and substance but keeping a Southern vibe to his music. Lyrics with thought and solid delivery is not an East Coast characteristic.
The addition of vocalist Diggy LP to many of the tracks throughout the project gives those tracks an entirely different vibe and delivers versatility to the beats and rhymes of J-Colb.
Overall, J-Colb delivered a complete project filled with introspective and insightful lyrics, backed with solid contributions from Diggy LP. His future is bright and it'll be interesting to see how J-Colb will build upon the momentum caused by Change Gone Come

J-Colb's Reaction to the Review
First off Shadeed, I just wanna say Thanks for taking the time out to review my album. I really appreciate it. I'm extremely happy with the review because I can see that even with a self release , I was able to get my point of view across. As you can see, music to me is much more than just a means to an end. It's something I've loved since I can remember. With this album I just wanted to make sure people knew I was onto something different and true. Now the only thing left to do is hope a major label feels the same way. I'm sure that in due time the right situation will come for me but i'd again like to say thanks for helping me along the way. Currently I'm still out promoting my debut, Change Gone Come, Independently (literally just me and a street team) and working on new material. Change Gone Come will soon be available on Itunes but for now I'm selling it through all my artist's sites. I'm hungry for this and I know that when given the opportunity I will be one of the biggest names in Hip Hop. One thing I know is that the cream always rises to the top. I'm on the rise baby.
