From 12 noon to 6 pm, there will be a FREE Winter Block Party, featuring a live mural painting by Revise CMW, music by DJ Itch13 and DJ Issues and a debut gallery exhibition of works-for-sale by some of Chicago's most notable artists, including Krista Franklin, Zeph, Brett Neiman, Kane, Novem Studios, Roper, Revise CMW and The Cartel, Rebekah Raleigh, Sam Adams, Stephanie Land, James "Casper" Jankowiak, Sandra Antongiorgi, David Robinson and Rebecca Crouch.
At 3 pm, enjoy a special Open Mic Academy, featuring hip-hop playwright Idris Goodwin and Poetry Slam Champion Roger Bonair-Agrad. Sponsored by The Public Square. 2:30 pm sign up for the open mic.
Stay for the ticketed main event at 7 pm, featuring Deja K. Taylor and Chicago-born William "Upski" Wimsatt presenting his State of Society Report entitled Movement-Building in the Age of Obama –
