Indie Planet TV

Baltimore Hip Hop's Online Destination for Self-Made Entrepreneurs

If we conducted an actual poll around the Indie Planet TV staff with the million dollar question being "Which hip hop would you think would be next on that Smoking Gun screen?" , let's just say our Worst Week Ever winner would not have been close to being considered.
On the surface, he seemed to be everything the record label needed to market a hip hop artist. Really "put in work" on "the streets", did an extremely long prison sentence, imposing physical presence at 6 ft 4 inches, and had the co-sign from one of the game's biggest superstars, T.I.

During the now infamous beef between Grand Hustle and D4l, Alfamega was not the one doing the talking, he knocked some poor guy out cold with what was rumored to be an open hand slap (lol)

All was going well for Alfa until the Smoking Gun had to go and get involved.
One thing about the Smoking Gun is they don't make claims without having official documents as evidence, which is why if you make it on their radar its best you let it go.

Excerpt from theSmokingGun.com
Zellars, who records for T.I.'s Grand Hustle Entertainment, is a hulking 6' 4", calls himself "The Grand Hustle Muscle," and proclaims, "I'm a real hood." What he does not mention, though, is his prior work as a Drug Enforcement Administration informant who snitched out criminal cohorts and testified as a government witness at the trial of an Atlanta heroin trafficker. Court records show that Zellars began working with law enforcement officials after he was sentenced in September 1995 to 110 months in a federal gun case (Zellars, who had a prior felony robbery conviction, was collared for selling weapons to an undercover federal agent). Zellars "agreed to cooperate with authorities and was debriefed" about the criminal activity of several individuals.

It was rumored that shortly after this new hit "the streets" that Alfamega was checked into a hospital where he is currently re-cooperating.

People were wondering what T.I. and Grand Hustle's position would be. TIP wasted no time in releasing a statement to clear the air.

There are a few things about this situation that are a bit fuzzy. TI's lawyer in his unbelievable 1 year sentencing for federal weapons charges is the same lawyer that helped Alfamega. In TI's public service announcement where he introduced his 1800 - TIP crimestoppers hotline, "The King" took a lot of flack for what seemed to be encouraging snitching when he took the oath to obey the code of "the streets"
Some see the move to dismiss as very hypocritical of Tip. Grand Hustle has some issues with cooperating with the law, which is a NO-NO in hip hop street culture. TI's bodyguard, Alfamega, and RUMORED that TIP as well.

Did Alfa have something to do with TIP's weapons charges?
Was Alfa still informing the law about activities around Atlanta?
Will we find out more about TI in the future?

This is one case where I truly believe a career has been ended. These accusations pierce the heart of what Alfamega represents as an artist.
