Today's subject is Ja Rule's first solo album Venni Vetti Vecci.
Cop The Album Online Here:
Forget about the Ja you may know today. This album was Ja at his hungriest and his material was more gritty and grimy than at any point in his career.

With DMX comparisons flying around his career, Rule stepped up and delivered. Kill Em All, World's Most Dangerous and the collaboration w/ Jay-Z and DMX fueled talks of a supergroup forming between the three.

What separates the album is that the casual fan would associate it with the breakout singles from the album. What brings it up for Classic consideration is the rest of the album which showed Rule potential, versatility and depth of subject matter.

@indieplanet No doubt! Re: Venni Vetti Vecci is not a memorable album in the same vein as Illmatic, Life After Death, Low End Theory etc.

@SickSpitter @indieplanet Ja introduced the 16-16-8 and the 16-16-12 bar formats on song verses w/ secondary hooks before the 3rd verse

@indieplanet...50 brainwashed ppl to think ja was always doin soft music, his first album was hard.. only begotton son? whoa

@indieplanet...whoever said jas first album was wack, doesnt know wtf there talking about, classic album. could play it forwards an backward

@indieplanet Just personally not a classic album. No essence that added quality to the hip hop community just made Stevie Wond hot to youths
