The FREE GREASE BEAT on MY SPACE was created to develop a platform for aspiring artists to manifest their talents. At the same time, these up and coming entertainers were given the rare opportunity of working with the industry's most prolific producer Dame Grease. April 2006, multi-platinum producer Dame Grease drew attention from fans and media outlets when he gave away a free beat valued at $20,000 through a special contest on his MySpace page. After the success of that contest, Grease has decided to once again place a beat on MySpace for a free download (date to be announced). The winner of the previous Free Grease Beat was MYSTIK, the hottest white girl in Philly! She ripped the competition and took the crown home. Grease had to choose from 10,000 submissions, but he said, "it was something about her voice, her delivery, that led me to choosing her."
Mystik, the winner of multi-platinum producer Dame Grease's first Free Beat Contest, claimed her prize today as she recorded with Grease in his Lot Musik Studios. While the contest sought unsigned emcee talent, a new competition is being laid for those on the production side of music. A new television program entitled "Beat Soldier" will test the skills of upcoming producers as their lives are documented in front of video cameras and aired on HipHopWorld.TV. also look out for the mixtape 'Dame Grease Present's The Dame Grease My Space Free Beat Contest. (the mixtape will comprise of all the 10 runner-ups and the winner Mystik).
