Little Ax LLC Launches Antfarm Affiliates Sub-Label and Social Network
In an innovative step towards connecting the artist and the listener, Little Ax LLC is launching the digital sub-label ANTFARM AFFILIATES in conjunction with a social networking site bearing the label's name. Dirt E. Dutch, the host and programming director of INDIEFEED Hip Hop, is the owner of Little Ax LLC, an independent label dedicated to the promotion and distribution of hip hop music. AntFarm Affiliates' inaugural release is Rising Sun Quest's new album Journey Towards the Sun.
Rising Sun Quest has earned a reputation as one of the premiere MCs of the Connecticut hip hop scene crafting songs that are appreciated by hip hop purists and the average fan alike. "My music reflects both how I'm living now, things I've been through and the workings of life in general. My music is very deep and though I have complex rhymes they are presented in a way that you can easily grasp what it is I'm talking about," explains Quest. Journey Towards the Sun, Quest explains, "is a CD that you'll play in 10 years and it will still be relevant." Featuring production by fellow AntFarm producers Dirt E Dutch, Defnyshn, Sketch the Cataclysm and others, the album is a sonic journey through the mind of this gifted MC and a strong statement about the past, present and future of hip hop music.
The AntFarm Affiliates are a coalition of hip hop artists who are building the Connecticut hip hop scene into prominence. Consisting of nine different acts, the AFA are making their mark by hosting and performing at various events and venues throughout the Nutmeg state as well as through their progressive music. All future releases from Affiliate members will be through the ANTFARM AFFILIATES imprint.
A key to the success of the label is the interactivity of their website, antfarmaffiliates.com. Bridging the gap between artists and fans, everyone who signs up on the website will have the ability to create their own page where they can post blogs, upload photos and videos and join in forum discussions. The format of the site encourages interaction between the fans and the artists. Artist pages feature streaming audio and video content, pictures, blogs and events calendars; everything that fans need to know and want to experience.
