Beastie Boys Release 20th Anniversary of Paul's Boutique (Digitally Remastered)

2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the groundbreaking album Paul's Boutique released by the Beastie Boys. The album is digitally remastered for a new listening audience.
After the release of Licensed to Ill, it was widely believe that the Beasties would be a one album wonder.
After departing Def Jam they took off from NYC to LA and many thought the group had lost its way.
Sound-wise it was a departure from from the hard rock sound of Licensed to Ill and drifted in a sample crazed album with help from the Dust Brothers.
This album was one of the last to show that sampling as its own art form due to landmark lawsuits during the timeframe, most famously Biz Markie getting taken to cost. This was the beginning of sampling being considered too costly to do on a major scale.
