In my opinion, KRS-One is the living breathing embodiment of what hip-hop was intended to be - he lost a lot of "the streets" when he became the Teacha, but his live show and just understanding of what hip hop is will always give him the nudge (in my eyes) over Rakim Allah, Kane, LL, G-Rap and the other greats of that era
