Well I just copped an MPC 1000. I got rid of the 4000 a few years back...just to big to lug around. Anyway I got that coming and some sample disks. Unfortunatly I can't do much sampling myself out here but I've got plenty of time to do the rest. Imma just use that and my laptop and see what happens.
Like I said...You got me motivated.

You got rid of the 4000 ?!?! We coulda worked out some kind of deal on the homeboy discount. The 1000 is good for you since you're always on the go, you could literally lay on the beach and make a beat now.
As far as samples, buy Soundforge (for now) and just sample CDs or old records that you download. I use Soundforge and Cool Edit for just about everything and you can even record vocals into cool edit.
